Our story

Nestled in the heart of Basalt, Colorado, Plum Fairy Farm is a small but vibrant haven for nature, creativity, and community. Specializing in locally grown, hand‑cut flowers and herbs, the farm is dedicated to sustainable practices that honor the land and the seasons.

Beyond its flourishing fields, Plum Fairy Farm is envisioned as a gathering space for connection and inspiration. The farm’s beautiful setting offers a unique venue for retreats, artist workshops, outdoor dinners, intimate celebrations, and other creative experiences. Whether guests are harvesting blooms, learning from local makers, or sharing a meal under the stars, Plum Fairy Farm strives to cultivate a sense of beauty, mindfulness, and joy.

Rooted in the belief that the natural world nourishes both body and soul, Plum Fairy Farm brings together flowers, food, and community in a way that’s authentically Basalt: thoughtful, welcoming, and deeply connected to its mountain surroundings.

Cheryl Sovich, originally from South Africa, brings a global appreciation for nature to her work at Plum Fairy Farm. Her childhood spent amidst South Africa’s vibrant landscapes instilled in her a deep passion for the outdoors—a passion she now lives out daily in Basalt, Colorado, tending fields of hand‑cut flowers and herbs, and leading nature-based community gatherings. Cheryl’s connection to the land is both personal and soulful—rooted in her South African upbringing and nurtured amid the changing seasons of the Aspen/Basalt region.
