Explore the freedom of watercolor by allowing pigment and water to move together. We'll use the soft petals of the Cosmos to experiment with flowing color, transparency, light and beautiful imperfections.
EDGE VARIATION | Find the Focus
Discover how hard, soft and disappearing edges can transform a painting. Using the Cosmos, we'll explore when to define a petal, when to soften it and when to simply let it disappear into the paper.
EDGE DROP | Let Color Bloom
Watercolor does some of its most beautiful work when we stop trying to control it. Learn to drop color into a wet wash and allow pigments to mingle, bloom and create unexpected transitions within the Cosmos petals.
BAMBOO PEN | Make Your Mark
Trade the traditional brush for a simple bamboo pen and explore expressive line, texture and personality. We'll combine loose watercolor with spontaneous marks to capture the stems, centers, movement and wonderfully imperfect character of the Cosmos.
